Industry

The Brief
The project called for creating a premium gift set featuring an oversized mug and breakfast bowl that would celebrate Sanitarium’s milestone anniversary. These items needed to reflect the brand’s commitment to quality while complimenting the look and feel that the brand curated.
Challenge
Sanitarium, an iconic Australian brand celebrating 125 years of promoting healthy eating, approached Inck to create commemorative merchandise that would celebrate their heritage whilst celebrating this momentous event. The challenge was to develop products that would be suitable for the occasion and be coherent with Sanitarium’s messaging.
solution
Inck developed a carefully curated set that married functionality with commemorative value. The oversized mug and breakfast bowl were designed with premium materials, using Maxwell & Williams breakfast bowl and their oversized mug, and finishing touches that reflected Sanitarium’s quality standards. We incorporated a QR code on the packaging that linked to Sanitarium’s “social purpose” page, adding an interactive element that connected users to the brand’s broader mission and values.
Implementation
The production process involved meticulous attention to detail, from selecting the perfect materials to ensuring the QR code integration was seamless. Each piece was crafted to serve as both a practical everyday item and a collector’s piece. The packaging was designed to tell Sanitarium’s story through carefully chosen imagery and messaging that spanned their 125-year journey.
The Results
The anniversary collection was warmly received by stakeholders and customers alike. The combination of traditional craftsmanship with modern technology through the QR code integration proved particularly successful, allowing users to engage with Sanitarium’s heritage in a contemporary way. The products became cherished keepsakes that celebrated the brand’s past while looking toward its future.
Lesson
This project demonstrated the power of blending heritage with innovation in promotional merchandise. The success of the QR code integration showed how traditional merchandise can be enhanced through digital touchpoints, creating a more engaging user experience without compromising the product’s primary function.
